Mom is very weak and seems to be struggling. On Sunday she seemed brighter and happier, but by Monday morning she lost more control of her right side, making her arm useless and her ability to eat very limited. Her heart rate has shot up during the past 2 nights and she has not had good sleep. They put her on drugs to even her heart rate and that may be making her groggy. Her speech is fairly garbled.
Monica came to visit on the weekend and so did Ryan, Jessie and Fischer. Jane arrived on Monday and will stay for a few days.
Mom got a visit from her priest, Father Tom, on Sunday and she was thrilled. We are going to arrange to hae daily visits from lay ministers from the church.
If Mom recovers enough to leave the hospital we will take her to a skilled nursing facility. We will see how she pulls herself through this.
