Today we worked on writing letters to family to tell them of Mom's change of address. Cards with a short note written by Mom are going out to Felicia and Claudia, Steven Baker and Ketherine (Cyrulik), Annie Serkley, Ann Matyasz, and Mary Noland who was a close friend when Mom lived in Vancouver. These are all people who still send cards and make an effort to stay in touch. Mom can still write a bit but it works best if you tell her what to write and let her put the words on paper. It is hard work for her but she seems to get energized by that mental excersize.
We are amazed at times at how little recall Mom has. Most of her posessions are unfamiliar to her, and her bedroom is a new and pleasant surprise each day. We worked hard to put her most familiar items there but she has no real connection to material items any more. Luckily she still remembers who Ray and I are although she can not be convinced that we are married.
